I’m floored that a teacher is still on the job after being disciplined for sexual harassment towards a student. What the hell.

There are any number of videos and articles you can Google that will explain this for you, from the Confederate style pants and two golden chains to the Jim Crow facial expressions and dance moves.

Ouch, that is rough. But, I’ll still pay to see RBRM, rough edges, out of step moves and all.

Yeah, I was confused about that for that exact reason.

Afro-Latinx people need to do a better job of accepting their African heritage. American Blacks need to do a better job accepting that Blackness is not an uniform ethnicity. We (American Blacks) regularly interchange “Black” to describe our ethnicity and our race. This isn’t the same in the much of the Latin world. In

I’d rather see Teyana than Bobby any day, but that was fairly terrible.

for the record, the chromebook is my travel laptop. it costs like six dollars and does everything my macbook pro does. in fact, here is a pic of my chromebook and i partaking in our favorite activity.

This whole conversation ignores the fact that most “nerds” are lacking in social skills period. No one really gives a fuck if you like Digimon or Dungeons and Dragons if you can hold a fucking conversation and behave like a regular human being in social settings.

I get you. It’s like saying “you’re a nerd too, you should be grateful for my attention.” That doesn’t seem healthy to me. On the other hand, it’s self-destructive to entertain the fantasy of someone just “loving the real you” in spite of yourself, which is my take from the piece. (clarification: this is what I

>Saying the effect of “you should have just stayed in your league.” does not ring true as good advice, per se.

No, that’s my entire point, I actually had a longer post that included incels and edited it down. It’s just an absurd argument. How you even begin to compare blerds to Incels I have no fucking clue. It’s intellectually dishonest and InCels are a terrorist movement. The author should be embarrassed by that comparison.

BTW, this isn’t just a high school issue. Blerds aren’t getting checked for PERIOD. Not in HS, College, anywhere. I’ve personally done ok, but I was also athletic and artistic, I know plenty of blerds who aren’t and are not being checked for. Why anyone care about the dating preferences of people they’re not into I

They can say “Hey, date whoever” all they want and yet after this negative many articles about a black man who is dating a white woman it’s hard not to see some anti-interractial relationship bias here.

I think that’s my issue with this piece. Since it’s simplifies the issue as being merely “If you didn’t date a black girl in highschool, it’s probably because you’re an asshole.”

So we’re just going to ignore that the OP compared blerds to a white supremacist murderer? Because there are 3 full ass paragraphs comparing blerds, who have not engaged in mass murder, to a white supremacist who killed multiple people and inspired multiple murders. Really hard to hold a conversation on relationships

IMO, as a 44 year old, something important is missing here: “Nerd” was derogatory in the 80s/90s as someone who was just smart and generally socially awkward. Most often, those people were bullied, which further isolated them into Nerd-dom.

What do you think the overlap is between people who think the R. Kelly and Chris Brown allegations are made up and the people who think Donald Glover is “acting white” and self-hating?

all these think pieces on Glover and his choice of significant other! I swear, it’s as if Childish Gambino has been out here pissing on black teenagers and holding black women against their will in sex slave cults or something...

Young adults/teens/pre-teens place a high value on fitting in and being liked and accepted so the rejection is multi-faceted. Not only may these nerds (male and female) have been rejected by potential love interests, but by friend groups who may not want to lower their social status by associating with “nerds.” I was

Black girls rejected my black nerd ass (without getting into specifics of what a “nerd” is) in high school because I let my dad cut my hair.
