They still would have had to take the ball out at the other end of the court unless they spent multiple seconds to advance it before taking the timeout. And that would leave them with even less time to get a shot off against a set defense. SOOO... My point stands.

4 seconds is not plenty of time. It would have been an all-time great shot if they got the ball in at the opposite end of the court and hit a three at the buzzer in 4 seconds.

It’s a stupid mistake, yes. It didn’t cost them the game though. It cost them a shot with 3 second left. It’s not guaranteed that anyone makes that shot. If he blew an open layup or dunk then yea.. I could say something like that cost them the game.

People are mostly just piling on at this point. The person who deserves the MOST blame is George Hill.. Make your damn free throws and the game is over.
