If you don’t want me to order something, maybe convince your overlords not to put something on the menu that speaks to me as loudly as that thing does. 

What I find most interesting about this is that it is of a piece with a trend that exists all over the internet: the reification of increasingly minute details of people’s lives into concrete identities.

If you’re being serious, it’s the small section of the iPhone X screen that wraps around the selfie cam, so it’s not a rectangular screen. A bunch of Android phones copied this hideous feature soon after. It was an Asus phone that had a notch, first, though.

I also didn’t know it was only for iOS. The article mentioned it as being on “your phone”, which is both technically false and, practically, should mean minimally that it’s on Android and iOS.
