Is this a general sports problem of just a football problem. I ask 'cause the only sports I (loosely) follow are baseball and hockey, and I've never experienced gender problems with either of them.

@lardee: This is happens to me in public with kids I don't even know. I'm just so used to talking to kids and having them do what I say. Luckly I've stopped, but it was awkward when I was doing it.
