Quick correction to this part of the article: “He had reportedly been arrested for these charges and pleaded guilty to two counts in October of that same year.” He pleaded NOT guilty to the two counts. The current version makes things very confusing.

I mean, there’s still all that horrific shit of him sliding into underage girls DMs and telling them they’re hot jailbait.

So basically some kid desperate for attention with no actual care for any political cause and therefore best to probably not cover from here on?

It’s good they’re listening to feedback, but it does amuse me that their live service is about 50% “Does a thing/undoes the thing. That’s 2 updates. you’re welcome!”

1. The devs do explain their changes, and the explanations are usually very lackluster “We aren’t adding red reticle back because cheaters” is not a valid answer, when red reticle is irrelevant to cheaters.

2. The halo games are riddled with fun exploits, there’s no good reason to remove fun things that most players

I realized my pithy remark comes off as callow.

Fuck Putin and his GOP allies here at home. They can all rot.

It sucks because a lot of the community is frustrated at developers and stuff and like...this is 100% on leadership from top to bottom. EA leadership, DICE leadership, and all management in between.

Basically, I blame the people who pushed this out the door to hit a release schedule a lot more than I blame the people who worked through a pandemic to actually make it.

I mean, can you really blame people for being bummed about the artstyle & graphics? I think the general consensus is that most people want Gamefreak to build upon this, as it answers every single problem people have had with their “one step forward, 2 steps back” approach, but the graphics needs some working on.

I’m very much in the “art direction beats graphical fidelity” camp, but this game doesn’t really seem to have much of either. And the level of pop-in I’ve seen in some of these videos goes beyond a graphical issue and becomes a gameplay issue.

Nobody’s under the illusion that it will magically fix things. But company culture rots from the head. New leadership == the *opportunity* to fix things.

That’s really not what the article is suggesting. Regardless, Kotick “should” be removed as a first step. But Kotaku isn’t implying that getting rid of Kotick will magically fix the problem, particularly since the problem is largely systemic.

Maybe, but you still remove the original tumor.  You sure as shit don’t just leave it there to continue metastasizing.  There’s no path to wellness that doesn’t involve excision of the original source of the infection.

Seriously. Let people enjoy their stuff fresh. It’s part of the experience. Unless it’s a little kid or person who literally can’t set it up themselves... don’t.

Given that the most disappointed I ever was on Christmas morning as a kid was when Dad had opened up and set up all the electronics and toys ahead of time:

There is a minority opinion. I love the books don’t get me wrong. But for a TV show I think they have really done well with the Expanse. Amazing cast that was as diverse as the authors intended, with some killer acting.

But the exact amount of the raises will vary depending on the employee’s position at the company, sources said. According to the worker group ABetterUbisoft, junior staff will receive a 5-7% increase, while the most senior staff could see their pay increased by up to 20%. That would mean a lower-level developer might

There’s been a fair amount articles about it since it was announced and a couple videos showing various games running on it. I’m not really sure what more you expect people to talk about before the device is actually out lol

Yep. We put our deposits down, and moved on. It’s a handheld console; there’s not exactly a ton to keep discussing.
