Ha ha :-)

For the articles, duh.

You’re reading the wrong porn sites.

I get it, you’re one of those annoying, narcissistic, know-it-all dipshits who thinks they have great ideas and that if only everybody would listen to them, all their problems would be solved. Trust me, you don’t shit, not about how a 5 year old thinks, and certainly not about me. Most likely most of the people you

Haha, no. Your ideas are both ludicrus and dumb. To a 5 or 6 year old a hand held device is a hand held device. Telling them, “oh, no its for books” is not even REMOTELY the same as them actually seeing you with a book in your hand. Out of sight out of mind refers to the books being buried deep in the ever-scrolling

Actually, that’s the part I liked best about reading ebooks. Sometimes with a physical book, one that’s just SO FUCKING GOOD, when I’m nearing the last, say, quarter inch of the thing, I can start to feel a touch maudlin, ‘cause I have a physical reminder that all the awesomeness is fast coming to an end. With an

Charles Stross has a great series of essays on his website about the publishing industry, from the perspective of a working writer (well worth the time if you’re at all interested in the subject). In his essay about ebooks he has this to say about the cost:

Gotta agree with you, 100%. Did the same thing, all starry eyed and gee-whiz about the eBook. Now though, I just don’t enjoy the ebook app experience one bit. To paraphrase a terrific essay I read semi-recently but can’t remember where, the pile of unread books next to the bed is constantly within sight, thus within

Its called context. As in “this is the type of squeaky clean person the individual in question is, when he’s not (alledgedly) murdering 13 year olds.” It adds something to the story, a bit of visual information about this guy’s life and his recent place within his community, whereas a mugshot is just, well, a mugshot.

Why so offended? Its called context. As in “this is the type of squeaky clean person the individual in question is, when he’s not (alledgedly) murdering 13 year olds.” It adds something to the story, a bit of visual information about this guy’s life and his recent place within his community, whereas a mugshot is just,

Calvinball.

I, too, still have just that barest smidgen of optimism, deludedly lurking within my noggin. On occasion it whispers exactly this same here thing to me...

Comments like yours are why I come here. Thank you for this (really) very interesting and informative schoolin’ you laid down here.

Nice. A satisfying explosion, and I learned a new word. “collet /ˈkɒlɨt/ a holding device—specifically, a subtype of chuck—that forms a collar around the object to be held and exerts a strong clamping force on the object when it is tightened, usually by means of a tapered outer collar. It may be used to hold a

Wow, amazed and heartened that he’s still alive. What a friendly looking old coot! I found a book about him in a used bookstore 30 years ago. Blew my 15 yr old mind!

Thank you for that lesson, larson.

Ebooks are great, compact, and handy. But I have just two words to rebut your “hipsters” theory: “My kid”. My 8 year old deserves to actually see me reading books. If all my reading is digital then when I’m reading a book in front of him I might as well be playing a video game for all he knows.

Ha. Sounds insufferable. A good book for bonkers SciFi covers is this one:

Would you say their “unique flavour” a positive or a negative?

I have those, but I could never get into them.
