Not gonna read that as I've got the first book coming from the library, but thanks much for it.

I took the first instance of her ignoring Cotyar as her throwing caution to the wind because of the stakes involved and the possibility of getting Mao to cut it out. She was surprised that Erinwright had that move in him, but I don't think she was surprised by anything Mao did.
The monster broke out and killed everyone in that room fast enough that they, in the aftermath of a somewhat surprising grenade explosion, couldn't manage to activate their fail safe before it killed them. That's very believable, as it took all of 20 seconds and left one barely alive survivor.
I don't know if she would have seen something like that up close before, actually. How much do you think the average cabinet secretary in the U.S. government has seen along those lines? Unless they were military before, none and zilch would be the norm. Politicians hide themselves away, as Ozzie wails at us, and I…
You're reading the reviews of a TV critic. As a subspecies they're more concerned with novelty and, more germane to the Expanse, structure than the average viewer and always will be because that's pretty natural when you watch a lot of TV and think about it in detail. The Expanse has a bit of a weird structure due to…
We do hear Holden report the Ganymede orbit rematch is kicking off before the Roci crew notices their passenger.
Bobbie seems like such a career-focused person, I bet she'd limit herself to casual hook ups when the mood takes her. Doesn't have time for capital R relationships, because ass-kicking and preparing to kick ass take up all her time. Just basing this on what I've seen onscreen, haven't yet read the books.
Supposedly Canadians get it with every episode? The season 1 episode some person put on Youtube was from their Space channel (not called Spycye, yet) and included that sequence.
Yeah, if you're creating a living weapon to fight in space, giving it some sort of magnetic feet and hands seems wise.
It is a luxury yacht/evil lair so I'm not sure anything about it would be designed with efficiency in mind.
I'm not the most sensitive to bad acting, so I won't fight you on that but that hair was what the Belter cut was made for and is awesome.
Yeah, the fact that they weren't immediately shot when Mao gave the order was jarring because this is the show that doesn't usually do stupid things like that.
All the states appear on a TV competition reality show. Or even if it's just the states whose senators are most lavish with toward the Navy. Better the Mississippi than the Vinson and especially better the Michigan than the Ford.
I wouldn't mind a GOT style title sequence for The Expanse. Doesn't have to be long, but orienting where this weeks locations are in relation to each other would actually be welcome.
As someone who lives in a country founded by traitors, I'm more chill on the subject.
I haven't read the books, but the James S.A. Coreys talked on the show's podcast about how they'd gone to great lengths to find a Bobbie Draper who was something like the books idea of the character, though not exactly.
Also props to Cher for pointing out that Chen was in Almost Famous.
Yup. I looked those percentages up and was going to post this. People have some strange ideas about human behavior, including the idea that somehow the rich blue bloods are more orderly in a disaster than the poors. Seems to me like a situation that strips away such distinctions.
The U.S. never floated 50 battleships, though. Most was 37 in 1916, according to the google search I just did, but that's still only 2/3 of the state getting a name at a time, so states can wait their turn.
Even if we don't imagine something that extreme, dickhead Martens and the other Martian dignitaries whining about the younger Martians lack of commitment to the project of teraforming at all costs suggests a society that probably has a lot of conflict over things like whether scarce resources should be used on things…
