This article is untrue. The COST of ownership does not include a down payment or the principle portion of the payment. That money is still yours.

If enough of us like this comment, it comes true. It comes true, people.

I haven’t read your whole article yet, nor came up with an answer yet, but just this article’s idea, title and illustration is pure genius.

because most of the Gawker staff are located in either NYC or SoCal, and why would anyone want to live anywhere else?

Suburbs are boring? Why must you continue to express this erroneous sentiment? The suburbs allow me to have a three car car with a work area, in addition to driveway parking for four cars and side yard for another project. If you're a car guy, you need the proper tools.

I live in the area Doug is talking about, and you wouldn’t believe how much different it is than Camden only 15 minutes away. Literally night and day.

Only in real estate brochures.

I don’t know why he “didn’t expect to see” a truck that he clearly looked at in the 10 second mark on the same video.... it was there when he left the lot.! Duh.? He clearly wanted to impress his passenger. Funny though, that never works for me, usually just pisses them off.!

come on dude, pay attention. That truck was int he exact same spot when he left.

Not only is it a flat corner which you can see through, but the truck was sitting there right next to the exit when he left. Also, he wouldn’t have had to lift off if he was going slower.

Right, except when he first pulls out of that lot, the truck is already sitting there. He was either going too fast or just flat not paying attention.

You are talking like this guy does not know how to drive 911. It was speeding on public road what the guy is famous in youtube for.

Yeah the other day, I was pulling out of my driveway and someone drove down the street, so I took my foot off the gas going about 3mph and my car just went spinning out of control into a tree. Shit was crazy, man.

Who would have thought a 911 would lift-off oversteer? Certainly not someone who is famous for owning a shit-ton of Porsches...

So if he was doing the posted 25 or 30 mph speed limit, the same scenario would have happened? Get real...

It’s not like he’s coming over a bluff or around a blind corner. It’s flat, open space on a clear day. He wasn’t looking where he should have. Regardless of skill, he was going too fast for a street full of traffic with bystanders on the curb.

It’s stated because it’s true. It was his truck in the way, so one would assume he knew it was there. However, you’re going too fast for the environment if you can’t correct for things that occur. If lifting causes oversteer, then it was too fast for the environment. Lifting mid corner means too much speed.

That’s often how I end up asking Enterprise to pick me up at 8am.

Starting a car project on a sunday when you need to use the car to get to work Monday. Never a good idea.
