I would almost guarantee that NASA and/or the military have examined this concept in great detail, but the only reference to it I can find in my one minute web search is the final paragraph on this page [tvtropes.org], as part of their tongue-in-cheek metaanalysis of fictional entertainment. Not a very auspicious sign.

Jalopnik says 84? Wow, that's almost into Miatamino territory.

That greenhouse is a dollhouse.

But they won't pull your limbs and torso around the cockpit, because the inertial "forces" will be pulling the liquid just as hard. (Or in an inertial frame, the sealed cockpit walls will push both your seat and the entire fluid mass in unison, carrying your body along with it with very little differential forces

Well, yes. We wouldn't want it to get complicated.

I am a physicist, so.... The uniform pressure all around the body would reduce blood pooling effects, and the neutral buoyancy would reduce g-forces on limbs and the neck. Some sort of breathing and vision (such as a scuba mask, or a contact lens with compound low-index layers) measures would be required, and the

I may be missing something (IANA Automotive Engineer) but it seems intake velocity should be maximized only to the extent that you are trying to maximize intake volume. Even if intake velocity is reduced, but the intake area increases by a factor larger than the intake velocity is reduced, you still get more total

For starters, I'd say one valve that covers the majority of the cylinder is superior to the twin-cam Coates design. There may be other ways that Coates beats Bishop, but raw port area is clearly advantage Bishop.

It's stuff like this that gives me hope that some kind of "Formula Unmanned" will actually be a viable and compelling racing series in the near future.

Not pressurized, but rather entirely liquid-filled. If the driver's body is near zero buoyancy then most of those effects are mitigated.

Planes pull the most g's in their envelope while pitching. Cars pull the most g's in their envelope while yawing. It's a valid distinction.

It's an affectation of a common American colloquial style, like saying "bro" or "shizz" in a headline. I'm fine with it.

Pshhhaw. RedBull is testing their engine on mountain bikes.

Aurora 4.0 (L47) DOHC V8.

Chryslr 318 (5.2L). Smallest Mopar V-8 available in the pre-emissions era. 'nuff said.

Now, after a bizarre assassination attempt, Krejcir has been arrested by South African police on murder charger. Here's the release from the police:

"...drives a self-built Myers Manx.... Also, he likes cars that look happy."

There's a disco-striped, porthole-windowed Pinto wagon I've seen at the Happy Valley (N. Phoenix) Cars-n-coffee events... So hot, seriously.

Hey, thanks for the tip. I'll put www.regulations.gov in my daily RSS feed so I can vet this stuff ahead of time. It's all so easy now.
