The bigger cities tend to be fairly liberal. The state's gone for the Democratic candidate 7 out of the last 8 Presidential elections, actually. The east and west parts of the state can be pretty hilly, it's the central part that got flattened by the last glacier to roll through about 12,000 years ago.
