LOL, I saw Doug’s video when it came out. It all seemed kind’a cool until I got to the part about no A/C. I mean... that’s a deal breaker. Sorry. I can do without a lot of things, but not A/C.

Oh, cool. A police department known for harassing people for just walking on a sidewalk spending way too much money on something showy and useless, and pretending it’s a great idea.

We bought Musk’s truck to use to teach kids not to use drugs, the exact opposite of what Musk does!

You know cyclists were on all roads before cars became popular right? And just so you know, we cyclists have not yet relinquished our right to get around and use streets and roads.

10/10 for the idea, 6/10 on execution and condition.

Forget these new proposed regulations. The U.S. needs to take a page from EU countries and limit owning/driving full-size pickups (and possibly large SUVs as well) to those with commercial permits driving them for commercial purposes. Or at the very least, enact laws that ban jacking up those monstrosities past their

A lot of drivers think bicycles should only be ridden on the sidewalk, and if they are on the streets and roads, it’s their fault for getting hit.

I propose to Ban all SUV/Trucks from the Beach cities unless it’s interesting enough (ie classics or fun to look at so Broncos and G-wagons are safe). But all you other normies gotta park away and walk down! “Oh BuT i hAvE a FaMily”, well I forgot the part where that’s my problem. Think about it, the streets will feel

I mean…

Nonsense. Of course they’re real and ready to go into widespread service. Why, here’s a picture of one already ferrying famous actor Arnold Schwarzenegger to a glamorous event:

I bet it’ll have one of these guys.

I hope his insurance doesn’t cover this.

Ah darn! Sometimes it’s hard for me to tell the difference between exaggeration and seriousness. :)

The kicker is pretty much the only vehicles that can easily swallow plywood in 2024 is [checks notes] minivans.

I’ve been in Europe in the Summer. The French would tow the Queen Mary behind a 2CV. This particular picture is from the Netherlands I understand, but I’ve seen similar things.

It’s probably also automakers lobbying to squash any changes to allow minicars because they want to keep charging more and more for their cartoonishly large vehicles, safety be damned.

Because many Americans think that rules don’t apply to them.
Several years ago, there was a big Internet hullabaloo about “why is car [x] rated to tow in Europe but not rated to tow in the US?” The answer was that in Europe there are strict towing regulations that are followed and enforced, while in the US, people will

I will probably die in my AZ-1 lol.

I don’t understand this safety regulation stuff for cars when motorcycles are completely legal...What is this safety for? It’s so backwards, trucks and SUVs should be regulated out the ass simply because they have the potential to cause more external damage than smaller cars. Is my thinking incorrect?
