Here’s the thing - no one has proposed that these men go to jail or get shipped off to Siberia or any other hyperbolic response (with the exception of men who have actually done something against the law). No one is proposing that they should never again work in their chosen fields, in this case as artists. Of course

that’s what I’m saying! like, uhhh no honey, you need to stay here.

There are so many talented, amazing people in this world. We don’t *need* Louis CK. We don’t *need* Woody Allen. Allowing them to continue making art takes up space other, non-asshole people could have, and it absolutely validates them. Not to mention what it must feel like as a victim of these men to watch them

I was interviewed by several organizations recently about a dangerous man I met while pursuing a story, and was asked what women can do to avoid putting themselves in danger. I replied that it’s really up to women to do their jobs, and up to society to raise men who don’t become murderous crminals. I also said that I

So if singleness is the cause of men’s violence it stands to reason that the rates of domestic abuse among long term and married couples is close to zerooooohhhhhh, oops. Next up, Jordan Peterson’s newest book: The only thing that pacifies men is assaulting Women, and why this is okay.

This is why I wish sex work and sex workers weren’t so stigmatized. I’ve long thought sex work needs to be legal, regulated, unionized, and taxed.

What I find interesting is that this is the only area where he seems to prioritize “collective good” over “individual freedom”. In every other context, he says that if you need something (healthcare, a job, etc.) it’s on you to get it and it’s not society’s responsibility to guarantee that you have it. But when it

Well, someone has to invoke Godwin’s Law so it might as well be me: this is a reasonable approximation of the tone, thematic overtones, and fidelity to grammar and spelling I’d expect if Hitler had had Twitter down in that bunker in spring 1945.

That photo of Kitty Spencer looks like something off the cover of a romance novel. She is stunning.

The manner in which Arianna Grande has handled this atrocity is nothing short of a masterclass in professionalism. She makes me proud to be an American and she makes me proud of younger Americans. Other lesser human beings would have milked the teet of this tragedy for sympathy, clicks and sales. She was pitch

May I humbly suggest Donatello or Michelangelo as a name for the newest Baldwin?

They’re procreating like they’re trying to secure a throne.

My favorite flavor...

As a man my opinion on this might be biased but I think that a woman taking the mans name is a nice tradition, like women and children first or any basic chivalric practices. It plays well into the positive aspects of the male psyche. Just my two cents.

It’s not a harmless practice though. If it were, more men would change their names. But they don’t. Which makes it clear that it’s a sexist bullshit tradition that is demeaning to women and makes it clear that a woman’s identity is less valuable than a man’s.

It is such a rare phenomenon that the paper refers to it as a “micropractice.”

But it’s hilarious because the stalker was a woman. No matter that she was caught with a knife and this could easily have turned into another Jodi Arias case. Let’s just kid around and make jokes about how that is just like the thing people do when they don’t return messages. /s
