God, it must really be awful for those creators to have a bunch of people on the internet making assumptions about their intentions and criticizing them publicly. Good thing it’s only on twitter though, imagine if there was a whole app, just for that!
I can’t believe she moved states over a gun law. Or even if that wasn’t the real reason, making it sound so important that it was a factor in her life. I actually do approve of moving to where you think you’d fit in as opposed to sucking up whatever environment life deals you - if only we were all equipped to it…
I’m from a country that has been murder capital of the world several times and there has NEVER been a mass shooting of this kind. Yet Americans now seem to consider it a fact of life. It’s bizarre.
As I’d sell it, I totally would’ve climbed through mountains of trash (the thought that stink would reduce the resale value) to get it. I’d probably do it as long as I’d be saving money (depends on how much it cost for me getting to NY) no matter the price. Sigh, the labours of being cheap.
There’s no horror quite like throwing your retainer in the trash. Speaking from experience.
Well, for me it would depend on potential resale value. $4000 is a lot of money! I would probably dig through trash for an hour to keep from losing several grand!
The best part is that even with an arsenal, you’re pretty screwed. Only the instigator has control over when or where something happens, so unless you’re psychic your ability to survive/fight back hinges on your ability to react and what the attacker wants to happen. It takes police and the military years of training…
My friend had her wedding dress made into baptismal gowns for her babies.
and whose citizens are 20 times more likely to die of gun violence than those of other developed nations
That’s double the cost of my entire wedding, but we did it more like a party, because ceremonies are boring.
If it was before the wedding, then yes, I would totally have done this. After the wedding, well ... I understand the desire to hang onto your dress. I still have mine and it’s never going to fit me again.
The most upsetting part is that $4,000 for a dress is considered “lower-end” by many.
I can’t believe she made the building manager come with her. To New Jersey. And got the sanitation supervisor to search with her. Sorry about your dress lady, but jeez.
I could actually see transporting it in a garbage bag to protect it, assuming it was too bulky to fit in a garment bag.
I just can’t get past $4,000 for the dress. That was half the cost of my entire wedding.
Pffft I don’t know if that’s a normal people problem. I can’t imagine any normal person spending a ton of money on a beautiful dress only to keep it in a bag that could be mistaken for trash.
That Onion article is a recycled one. Onion has used it 3 or 4 times already, changing the details every time there is another mass shooting. It is incredibly sad & infuriating.
Awww. Rich people have normal problems, too. <3
I had a big argument over the gun control with my boyfriend yesterday. He was arguing with someone online (fuck!) that it wasn’t a gun control issue but an issue of mental health services. He brought it up to me afterwards, I guess he was hoping that I would validate his opinion, and wasn’t pleased when I said “I…
