Quick correction: it wasn’t Chicago PD that was called aboard the United flight where Dr. Dao was removed. There’s a separate aviation security department that serves O’Hare, which is not affiliated with nor under the control of Chicago PD.

Yeah, totally agree. My above comment was exclusively in reference to phones. Car touchscreens are a scientifically proven disaster.

Yeah. Though I still prefer being able to feel a keyboard or a number pad so my head’s not buried in a phone every time I have to use it, I feel like the tradeoff in favor of more display space and less hardware overall is reasonable.

Amen to that. @_@ Pressure from random powers-that-be stakeholders is the worst.

Totally agree with everyone in this thread. Any designer worth their salt knows about haptic no-look user design. No need to take your eyes off the road when you can feel the different shapes of a knob, button or lever. Touchscreens in cars need to be taken out back and shot.

You will never take my shaoxing cooking wine away from me!

I used the Dolly app when I had to move in an emergency and my original moving plans fell through on short notice. Had a wonderful experience.

Yeah, cuz fearing getting roofied on a date isn’t a legitimate concern or anything. Oh wait...

That kombucha line is gold. XD

Everything I’ve read about this incident suggests that everyone (barring the outer, obviously) handled exactly it how they should have. Honestly, the whole thing gives me hope.

Given the reality (haha) of being on a reality TV show, and the nature of the show’s premise of cutthroat competition, Zeke went in fully

You’re probably not as much of an outlier as you think. :P Plenty of men don’t like confrontation, and plenty of women aren’t afraid to speak up. And negotiation can be uncomfortable regardless.

Obviously there’s a lot of factors that go into it that apply to either gender, like stamina for confrontation, effort needed

This sounds much better than a cut and dried “vote”. Financial decisions by committee usually ends in disaster, imho.

Is Crayola even a brand staple for professional crayonists? I know that in colored pencils, at least, there are other brands that are better quality, ie Prismacolor

I only use non-GMO, pesticide-free, herbicide-free, fungicide-free, naturally fertilized, organically certified Dandelion.

Well, to be fair, the article doesn’t point out the difference between “I have to prove myself” vs “this group of people is responsible for my woes”.

btw I will gladly trade you peanut butter for imported South Korean Oreo Os

Thank you for sharing this. You’re absolutely right that people go through these phases. If it’s any consolation, aggressively misguided politicism happens on every side of the debate. Toxic call out and put down culture runs pretty rampant in liberal tumblr circles.

But, like you, I do hope this is a wake up call for

can i kiss you for this explanation

As another Asian growing up in the Midwest...my immigrant mom ate spoonfuls of peanut butter all the time. XD So some of us give peanut butter the appreciation it deserves, lol.

We never did agree on the crunchy vs creamy debate though, hahaha.

As long as it wasn’t magnets.
