The Lakers overpaid Nash too. They were about to pay Pau like 8 more than the Bulls before he had had enough.

I know LA won’t play for the championship for years and I also doubt they will make the playoffs for a couple years too. Even the 9, 10, and 11 seed teams this year were great too.
Come on man just say it for me. Those four would be ranked by GMs in the top 30 under 23. I have given you everything you want, now give me this.
Just agree with my statement!!!
I agree not so much since 2009.
You are making me look foolish. :)
Lin, Boozer, Ellington, and Davis are all about to be overpaid in the next week.
Going back a few seasons, but these guys got great contracts after a good/fair season in LA
From the outside looking in are those four in the top 30 under 23 camp? #2 pick, all NBA rookie team, big guy with upside, and what should have been a #4 pick. Be fair, my first comment looks and sounds dumb now, but I make a good(Fair?) point
I just added another comment to my original and should have said under 23.
Fuck. Let me rephrase this. English is not my first language.
Black. Stats were very good + everybody wants a big man.
Then again you could be right about good numbers on a bad team.
Clarkson was all rookie first team, Randle would likely be a top 4 pick if the draft was held today, Russell was just the #2 pick, and Black had great big guy stats in last years rookie class.
I can see a lot of “This Russell kid can really ball” and “Kobes historic last season” give them even more games this season than last. I would bet on it.
I mentioned this in another article, but when the max guys are all gone a bunch of role players who could make 5 or more a year for 5 years will go to LA for the minimum on a one or two year deal. The 20 or so games on TV gives you good name recognition. Just being a former laker gives you some extra value. Also, if…
No, when it is all said and done the Lakers will get a few guys who could make 5-7 million on the open market to take the veteran minimum contracts for a year or two. A lot of role players take crap contracts from the Lakers because they know if they have a good season the Lakers will give them a good contract. Also…
No, I think Kobe likely had a decent relationship with Pau. I think almost all the players who played with Kobe hated him, but not so much with Pau. I saw them speak a little Spanish together which was likely more fun for Kobe than Pau. Kobe was dead set on leaving the Lakers till Pau was traded to them. They looked…
I think Kobe is holding max guys back from signing four year deals. The thought of Kobe signing up for a couple more seasons is too much. Kobe would want a big contract giving the Lakers less power in 2016 and 2017. Aldridge, Monroe, Jordan,... wouldn't want to play on team with just Kobe and a bunch of prospects.
I can see not playing for the Knicks they are going nowhere fast, but the Lakers have a bright future. They easily have 4 of the best players under 22.
