At the time the Kobe deal looked like a steal for Charlotte. The Pau trade was the gift that kept on giving for the Grizz. IIRC Memphis still has a pick coming from the deal. The Paul trade looked a little uneven, but even today, as a big Pau is more valuable. Having a top 5 big is worth a lot more than a top 5 pg.

Trading a big man for assets almost always work. Look at the Howard, Pau, Love,... trades. Nobody regrets trading one guy for multiple items. I know for certain LA would give up Randle, the #2, the #27, and other items. I am sure a three team trade could be even better for the Kings. One guy is almost never worth that

Love wants to win championships and make money. Why would he ever leave Cleveland. I can't think of any NBA player who walked away from max money and likely championship.

Yeah. I assume they do some other minor deals to make it all blend. Somebody will jump ship to join the lakers in 2016 especially with Kobe gone.

Loading up on picks, young guys, and then picking up a couple max guys should work out. There is no reason it shouldn’t.

Yes, the lakers need a star. They WILL go all in for Cousins. They will trade all this years picks, Hill, Randle and or Clarkson. They need a star or stars now. Fans will start to leave if something is not done. The Lakers will be a decent 7 or 8 seed with Kobe, Cousins, and Wade or Rondo. They could also pick up a

One more thing. A lot of bigs flame out, give up, go crazy, retire, or get a career ending injury.

Also Pau, Howard, & Love we're going to leave anyway so trading them for future all stars and players on rookie scales was fantastic.

Trading Pau, Howard, Love... For a haul of assets has always made the smaller market team better. The teams receiving the big would go back on those trades in a second.

I think Memphis still has a pick coming from the Pau trade. It was a gift that kept on coming.

Has anyone noticed that trading a big for haul of assets has been fantastic deal for small town teams.
