PRNDL auto with a lever that moves to the selected spot is ideal for an auto–Column or floor-mounted, it wasn’t broken to begin with.

What was wrong with the old way of having shift levers actually move to–and stay in, selected spots in the available range of motion, with tactile feedback? Oh, that’s right it’s “old” we can do it “better” now with technology!
