I heard that as well. Considering that the gemoetry of the entire aircraft is designed to reflect radar away from its point of origin, and echolocation is essentially an acoustic version of radar, this is a very believable anecdote.

The first Pacifica was a 300m-esque, car-based crossover that came out before anybody had a clue as to what a crossover was.
I always thought this was the dumbest place to put a spare on a truck. Suppose the bed’s full of <choose your material/toys/gear> and you get a flat… what are you supposed to do? Empty the bed on the side of the road so you can get your spare? I get that it’s not as much as an issue for something like a minivan or car…
Same here! my favorite F-Series body style
UPS or FedEx can’t reduce that workforce. Who gets the package from the truck to the door? That’s right, the driver, but that title could be changed to ride-along package handler–no labor savings there.
Its probably a lot easier to move oncoming air to the sides of those big front wheels than straight over. Curious thing about those headlights though, I wonder if they’re taking a page from the McLaren F1-GTR book and sneaking in some lateral lighting to pick up apexes at night.
He hit the back window with one of his first shots. After the chase ended, he gave the car a walk-around and counted his hits (at least 6 in the car body). Also, what was behind the rear glass? That didn’t look like a normal part of the interior.

Landing on a barge at sea allows recovery well down range of a coastal launch facility. Coming back to the launch pad would require a lot of extra fuel.
Iron Eagle. Pure 80’s cheese that 8-year-old-me loved. Do NOT waste your time with any of the sequels.
That’s what I thought at first glance too.
Twisted Sister’s, We’re Not Gonna Take It seems to be the more appropriate song from that soundtrack
When I had my ‘05 Impala, my mods (yes, I modded a 4-door, FWD family sedan with a 3.4L v6) consisted of: F-Body (‘98-’02 Camaro/Firebird) 2-piston front brakes with upgraded brake pads, braided stainless brake lines, Impala SS handling kit (front & rear sway bars and tubular rear trailing arms with new endlinks),…
How does it do off-road? I don’t expect yout o go mudding with those wheels. Maybe head up some forest service roads and find some snow?
Why are all of Jalopnik’s videos embedded as playlists? I came here for one video, not all 5 videos from the auto show.
Harbor Freight = you car will land flat on your face be stranded on your jack stands until you can use another jack, so good luck!
Welcome to Overland & Expedition! You’ll find a different kind of enjoyable driving here.
You’re missing the difference between commuting and driving. Autonomous cars are great for commuting, not so much if you want to do almost any other driving.
