I hate to blame the pedestrian even a little, but people get dumb when they stare at their phone.

You bring up a really interesting point in that, while extremely rabid, the Tesla fan base probably isn’t nearly as big (and maybe not even as crazy) as loyal truck buyers.

This is the correct take. For instance, I would expect that, if everyone started buying pet alligators, that the annual number of casualties involving large predatory reptiles would rise drastically.

Probably because this is one of the first “normal” vehicles that happens to be electric, and have respectable price/performance numbers.

I remember there was a “best interstates in the country” list that was done by surveying truck drivers. I-40 from Knoxville, TN to Memphis, TN was the best. I’m not surpsied. I-40 is indeed very heavily traveled and yes, it’s mostly truckers. The last time I drive that route I promised myself to never again use I-40 from Memphis all the way through Arkansas.

Officially licensed (and government approved, because reasons) samples of the sounds effects from Jetsons, Star Wars, Star Trek, etc. Because if I’m going to have to drive a Leaf, I want it to sound like a Tie Fighter.

It should just be The Jetsons’ sound, industry wide.
