But but but health savings account! That’ll do it. *insert a giant middle finger to the GOP here*

I mentioned this on another thread, but this so-called bill devotes 6 pages to kicking people off medicaid if they win they lottery. It goes into an absurd amount of specifics of the types of lottery winnings, how much lottery winning disqualifies you, how the state can ‘intercept’ your lottery winnings to recover…
Ya see, this way the poor will be well motivated to become rich.
I’ve said this before, but I don’t understand why the left is always expected to cede ground to the right. Both politically (which is another issue altogether) and in terms of tone. This is a person whose job it is to defend someone who’s perpetrating bald racism, sexual assault, nationalism, and the systematic…
I have thoughts.
Yeah like the Javert dress. That’s not sexist at all, that was just a bad dress. Everyone’s worn something terrible in their life, but rich people tend to be the ones with the most widely distributed evidence of it. Hey, we hit Donnie too cause his suits don’t fit!
could not agree more. Conway and Tami Lohrer (sp?) are repugnant for MANY reasons, none of which have to do with their looks, sex, and/or gender. There are more than enough factual, evidence-based things to drag them about without resorting to gendered insults.
My husband has been offered a new job which will involve relocating to Georgia.
Hey here’s a fun thing; consider what kind of world we’d be living in if 2009 had opened with the following headlines.
When I set up my gmail account (I think it was still by invitation back then), I just forwarded my aol email to the gmail and never actually de-activated the aol address. I still use it for my Netflix login, since when I signed up for the dvd service, gmail didn’t exist yet.
I kept my old AOL email and solely use it now when I purchase stuff online. That way my real email doesn’t get all junked up.
I bet he privately wore pantsuits, was frequently overly emotional when he had his period and was responsible for all the deaths in Benghazi.
My vote is you decline the invite. Showing up is normalizing this man and an administration that has deliberately disrespected HBCU students and their families.
He’s been so quiet that people assume he’s the secretly competent one of the bunch. But no, he’s as big of a jackass as the rest.
Fuck all these fucking fuckers.
This is the same mewling doofus who tried to launch a state-run news entity and was surprised when people had a problem with that. If you tell me he did a stupid thing, I’m always going to believe it.
It’s an extremely important detail because kids granted relief under DACA are sometimes under the mistaken impression that it’s a path to citizenship and “legitimacy” in the eyes of the American legal system. It’s not. DACA is a shitty bandaid, which is more than a kick in the pants, but it’s not what these kids…
I have to admit that was my first thought. They deserve prison, but thirteen years seems strong.
But also, fuck ‘em. It’s the worst combination of dumb, hateful and scary shit to pull.
13 years is no joke though. They’ll have a long damn time to think about it.
Slight lol at the “It wasn’t me” Shaggy defense
This is the silver lining in this awful story for me. I am completely amazed that Georgia pursued this case, used these laws to convict, and actually gave hefty sentences to these assholes.
