I do feel extra bad because our one cat was my cat first, since my 14th birthday. She loves my husband a lot though. During the day, she will often choose his lap over mine. But come bedtime, her snuggles are all for me :)

I think with a lot of them it’s not hard for a cat to reach its paw up the dispenser, but this one is sealed off when it isn’t dispensing. There’s like a pipe in the spout and when it’s time for food to come out then it rotates to create a hole for food to dispense from. Then it rotates again and closes it all back…

I have an automated feeder that dispenses food in 1/8 cup increments of your choosing at programmed times. It’s amazing and the best thing ever and helped my cat lose a ton of weight.

My cat used to be fat—I don’t know for sure if it’s true but my dad says she was over 20 pounds (she got fat while I was in college and he let her be free-fed with food available all of the time).
