I don’t think you understand what I’m saying. What exactly do you mean when you say “establishment”. Can you put together a reasonably concrete definition of “establishment”, and then demonstrate, with concrete facts directly from their policy platforms where both candidates fall inside of it?

To me, the larger point is that “establishment” has become, like most politically and/or socially charged terms tend to, a rhetorical bludgeon that people use to avoid having to direcly address someone’s ideas.

Let me clarify that, they weren’t on a private email server, but he definitely does most of his business through a non-public email and forwards what he deems state-related emails to his public email account.

Okay, I’m fucking sick of this. The “Democratic Party establishment” is not a thing to be reflexively opposed. The Democratic Party establishment elected Barack Obama. It got Sotamayor and Kagan (KAGAN!) appointed. It promotes marriage equality, abortion rights, racial equality, feminism, and a social safety net.

A friend of mine wanted to become an opera singer specifically because of the parties (which are no joke; the running joke in the opera company I work with is who’s going to be the biggest shitshow at the cast party).

I can attest to this. We used to build beer bottle chords and tune them perfectly with very precise drinking. It was great.

all good, i play french horn, which apparently can’t choose whether or not it’s a brass or a “woodwind” instrument (i played quintet all 4 years in college...and my freshman year of high school when our band program actually kicked ass).

Music major weighing in. I also went to a liberal arts school, but solely hung out with music & theatre majors. Everything you have noted is accurate.

Oh yeah, I went to a liberal arts school attached to a conservatory. Sometimes, the two groups didn’t intermingle much. We just assumed they holed themselves up in their studios and practiced all day. Turns out, I apparently missed all the really weird crazy parties.

I think the reason that many of the Gawker commentators don't think this show is funny is that they've never actually hung around or been a musician.

I'm going to make the assumption that neither of you were ever professional musicians. This show is for professional musicians like what 30 Rock is to writers or The Office is to...office workers.

Mozart’s pilot features a young oboist going to a cool orchestra party (in her own apartment) where she plays a classical music version of spin the bottle and all of the guests are just so. fucking, psyched. that she’s playing Bach.

I didn’t know that about WLW overnight because I generally try to avoid giving them the time of day. It’s cool that they have better content at night than most other stations, though.
