I have always wanted my own hair castle.

Serious question; Does anyone think that Donald actually believes the nonsense he’s spewing or does he spend the 45 minutes he takes to do his incredibly elaborate comb-over to just think up the most outrageous drivel possible to gin up the mouth-breathers that support him?

No offense taken at all! One of the hardest things about writing this essay was forcing myself to be honest even when I knew I’d be less likable. It’s an important—and importantly humbling—exercise.

I definitely connected with this piece and can relate to what she’s saying, and it’s nice to see things that I’ve felt and struggled with written out by someone else. Makes me feel less isolated and abnormal. So yep, I guess you could say it helped me (and others) and it probably did help the author to get it out.

Really? It’s kind of crappy to tell someone to “chillax” as a response to a personal essay about their self-discovery over the past year. The author is asking serious questions about her life and emotional motivations and who are you to tell her how seriously she should take that journey?

This is lovely and complex: thank you.

I really enjoyed reading this because it was well written and I also feel like I wouldn’t like you much and for some reason this makes me want to like you.

I especially enjoyed your honesty about the “empathy for the sake of being altruistic” bit. Sometimes we try to be good people for selfish reasons, sometimes not.

Early in graduate school, I still believed literature could save us, so I clung to a narrative device that seemed to

The dead end was frustrating, because, as a fat feminist, I was hungry to find out who the original poster could be so I could then eat them.

You’d be OK with her choking on a dog treat, though, right? I know I would be.

It’s easy for people to dismiss a subject as having nothing to it when they don’t know anything about it.

Lol, don’t apologize. I used to sing and took intermittent vocal lessons (so I’m nowhere near as knowledgeable as you) and I still annoy people by correcting them when they make false statements about singing.

Thank you. The dates are pretty spaced out to allow for ample vocal rest, and she’s much healthier physically (no more smoking, minimal drinking) and better-trained vocally than she has been in the past.

That still blows my mind.

Well they do say that time’s supposed to heal you...

Who pissed in your fucking Cheerios this morning?
