“Well, it’s in Hazzard, it’s in a hurry and it ain’t a Duke. So whoever that fella is, he’s probably up to no good. “

This is why I never got into a real project car. For the cost of a set of tires, I could tear apart and rebuild a guitar and still have money left over. I’m happy enough with my Focus for now, it’s reliable and handles great, despite being an underpowered slushbox.

>The real question is “for how long?”

And lack of parking spaces.

Fair enough. I guess a more worthy competitor would be the E63 wagon, since that has the same engine as the R63 but is faster and actually seats more people with a 2 + 3 + 2 layout (if you get the optional rear-facing seats).

I saw one the other day at my local Target, I thought I wonder if that person knows what an awesome car they have. Then on my way out I saw the owner, he was an older gentleman, he was loading grand kids in the car. I looked at him, he looked back, I nodded and he opened his jacket to show an AMG Racing team shirt.

You know what? Fuck you guys, I want an R63 now.

Hi guys, these are all such great suggestions! You have managed to reconcile my, at first glance, contradictory functional and existential needs!

Came here to recommend the Suburban, saw this and my life was given.

Excellent choice!

I wish the conversion on these was a little bit simpler. I have a really mint 96 that would be amazing if it were 4x4. Keeping my eye out for a rotted out one so I can do a body swap.

Ditto! Not hard to find and depreciate faster than a pickup or SUV, making them affordable.

His nails it. Also, great for SAR since it could be a comfortable camper too.

Just have to wait for the prices to come down on these:

Yes! I was waiting to see a conv van.

This is the only answer.

This a great answer

Didn’t even cross my mind, great answer!

Went and did a bunch of trails near telluride this summer in a jeep and saw one of these out there. Thing was taking names!

A van!
