Mandatory minimums are absolutely insane! Especially in cases where rehabilitation is possible and detainees would do markedly better in a program than in a cell. I have so many rants on this subject I have to stop myself before I write a book.
Over tip everywhere you go. Send a donation to an abuse hotline. Box up that canned food and drop it off at the food bank. Buy a doggie bed for the dog shelter.
Sweet!
I’ve admired yours for awhile bc, hey, it’s always poodletime in my book!
I agree, and I love your handle, too!
Once again, Judge Amber Wolf gets the title of the Extremely Honorable. She’s my newest hero since the amazing feminine hygiene incident. Not only did she give him the chance to meet his baby, she made sure the mother was 100% comfortable with everything first. We need so many more Amber Wolves. A whole Wolf pack in…
When I was sixteen I made a dumb choice and I got railroaded for it. Four months of boot camp, then I was adjudicated and the original jurisdiction court wanted to put me on probation as well. I ended up moving before my sentencing so my case got transferred to a new jurisdiction and a new judge. Wolf reminds me of…
He’s much more likely to be motivated to with people like her in the court system.
That was just really lovely. How much better would be if more people thought about doing the “human thing”? Especially if those people were in positions of power.

With any fucking hope this guy will hold onto that moment and get his shit together. I know the odds are against him but any little tiny ounce of hope and motivation is better than nothing at all.
I mean, I can’t imagine Dick Wolf wouldn’t be on board for this. But if that’s the case, it should probably be NBC.
CBS needs to make a drama series based on her. We can call it The Good Wolf or Amber Waves of Justice or something.
This woman is a national treasure. I am so glad you all are giving her the coverage she deserves, as this is a very good example on how to have compassion for others, as we are all human, despite our flaws.
It’s something I, and I imagine many others, struggle with every day, so it’s refreshing to see someone with…
Judges’ humanity so often shows up in the news in the form of anger or spite or bias; it’s nice to see that there’s an upside to not replacing human judges with JusticeBots(TM) after all. (For one thing, JusticeBots(TM) would short circuit when they got all misty at this scene.)
I needed this.
Oh shit. Well, this definitely made me tear up, and now I don't know what to do with my Grinchy-ass self today, so...thanks?
I might be in love with this judge.
Go away.
