I’m not surprised that he’s being booted. His actions last July and continued misinformation has the potential to undermine the legitimacy of the current administration. Even Republicans would respond to that kind of a threat.
I think that a lot of women like to blame victims of intimate partner violence/domestic assault, in large part because they themselves haven’t experienced it and it allows them to feel like they’re in control. They likely feel the exact same way, unless they, too, have experienced this kind of abuse.
Article was cross-posted to Gizmodo. A lot of people there react very negatively to anything related to politics or women’s issues.
That’s a perfectly reasonable and acceptable question! As I recall, she was livid, tried to argue against him, and then — when he refused to change his opinion or even listen to two female family members who had both been raped — told him that she was in no way ever going to bail him out if he got in trouble for…
To be fair and as the article states (which, I know, I know, you said that you’re replying solely to the headline!), a number of the sexual harassment lawsuits against O’Reilly note that he spoke innappropriately to women on the phone and appeared to be masturbating while doing so.
Reminder that men who choke their partners are 10 times more likely to eventually kill them. It is frequently used as an indicator of extreme danger.
Okay, so, two things about Bela Lugosi:
I was going to reiterate the same exact point! It’s one thing to maintain a certain mien while performing, but it’s entirely different when people expect a specific response to feedback.
There is also a group of red pill women (the purple pill?) which is baffling.
I this noted elsewhere, but it also potentially throws trans, intersex, and nonbinary people under the bus. Many people who are not women can and do get pregnant, so we shouldn’t necessarily reinforce the idea that pregnancy is strictly the domain of women.
But the correct thing to do in this situation is to pass a law to retroactively define those terms in older laws so that “Husband and wife refer to any spouse.” or something like that.
They already expect MOGAI people to go to hell. I don’t want these regressive, antediluvian assholes anywhere near me if there is an afterlife.
The lawsuit calls for an interpretation of the law that clarifies that “the spouse (not just husband) of any married woman who gives birth in Tennessee is the legal parent of the child to whom she gives birth,” according to the Associated Press.
So, this month I learned that I shouldn’t fly United (beats up customers), Delta (threatens to arrest parents and send children to foster care), and American (racist as shit).
[...] equality doesn’t mean that women need to learn to “take shit like men do” nothing will change.
My state appears to be the only B. That’s pretty cool.
Almost twenty years ago, my mother was having a discussion about consent with my middle brother. They were watching a show and the plot involved a woman who was raped after consenting to one sexual activity but declined another.
Incels scare me. RedPillers are awful and misogynistic and terrible, but incels somehow elevate it to another level. So many equate status to having sex, and they’re frequently completely open to anything — no matter how awful — that will guarantee them access.
