I understood his “I honestly didn’t know” to mean that he was unaware of it all at the time that he campaigned to be in the film. That would be understandable. 

I don’t know ... the first time I heard this song, I thought it was a total rip-off of “Got To Give It Up”, so much so that I thought they had sampled it (and done it all on the up and up). I’m all for artists influencing each other, and drawing inspiration from each other, but this one just didn’t sit right with me.…
