You are correct. Even the 99+ V70/S70 cars featured several parts that could only be replaced after expensive VIDA programming. It was only after 2001 when this architecture became commonplace throughout the entire Volvo range.

Racelogic is not needed. The factory traction control functions after the Renegade Conversation.
If you had watched the Renegade Hybrid video you would have realized the ABS & Traction control still funtion perfectly after the LS conversion.

I definitely could have been more clear. A manual R8 is in my future. The only choice I need to make is V8 or V10.
I prefer the ascetics of the update but with no gated manual the only hard choice I have ahead of me is V8 or V10.
