The door bump can happen if there are no air leaks in the car. If Fred had cracked the sunroof the door would have shut perfectly.
The 2.7 and 4.2 Allroads are both belt driven. They do not have timing chains.
The door didn’t shut because the interior is extremely well sealed. My Allroad did the door bump when it was brand new. Crack the sunroof and try again.
