I mean, there’s really nothing wrong with searing a steak and putting it under the broiler for 2-3 min each side. It will flash cook and come out a very good medium-rare if you take it out in time. This is exactly how some steakhouses like Ruth’s Chris or Fleming’s will usually cook their steaks.
I have no idea why, but I kinda hate that we all agreed to call this thing a “boop.” I guess it’s pretty arbitrary and there isn’t a better thing to call it, I just have an aversion to the word itself like some people do with “moist.” When a teammate talks about getting booped it makes me cringe a little on the inside.
