Nice to see! Experiences by men and women are different and until that’s clarified we can’t make things better for either side.

Apparently kinja just ate my post so let me repost. This is completely unrelated. The public high school right by my house that I can hear all the football stadium announcements just had a prayer and a whole Jesus is our savior thing before they played the national anthem. THIS IS NOT OK. Forced patriotism and…
I used to be married to a Connecticut Yankee who told me that he of course knew more racial slurs than I did. He then rolled out porch monkey, towelhead, sand jockey/ni**er and about 10 other slurs that I’d been spared. It always made me wonder, why have so many names for something you supposedly don’t like?
I have very clear memory of my brother, shortly after 9/11, telling me about this awesome term he’d just heard — sand n***er! He was honestly baffled when I yelled at him. “It’s not racist! It has nothing to do with black people!”
It’s a slur for American Indians. It was around the time I was really reconnecting with my grandmother’s tribe/clan in Mexico. I’ve also heard sand n-word cause apparently I present as middle eastern to some bigots.
Signed someone whose “woke” white friend’s husband jokingly called me a prairie n****r.

I’m not going to hold her accountable and she is not an abused woman cowering and covering her husband’s faults. However she is married to that man and has to have heard at least some racist jokes, language. So you’ll understand why some of us have misgivings about her and her response comes across as self righteous.
I will say this for the last time. Do not hold women accountable for the actions, decisions or words of their partners. Don’t. Do it.
We have nothing to hide, and are as angry and baffled as you are at how Harvey’s behavior could continue for so long.
I mean, it’s called the fucking U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS! It’s not even a thing you had to have learned at any point that it’s part of the U.S., it’s right there in the name.
They had everything to lose and nothing to gain. Imagine how it must be to victims everywhere when America voted in an abuser to the highest office in the land.
not to mention Rosanna Arquette, who’s entire family is in the industry
Paltrow & Jolie are from Hollywood families. If Blythe Danner’s daughter and John Voight’s daughter didn’t feel comfortable speaking up for fear of repercussions, what does that tell you about the level of power Harvey Weinstein had over the entertainment industry? I hope this illustrates for people how deep this…
As you say, these men are running the world. What good does it do to speak up, in most cases?
“in light of new information” — yeah, right
I wonder how many actresses will be wearing Marchesa this awards season now that they don’t have to pay homage to Weinstein’s wife Georgina Chapman.
In addition, his brother Bob has demoted him to a 2nd cousin, once removed.
