The novel of 25th Hour is so-so, but City of Thieves is an absolutely fantastic novel about two Soviet soldiers trying to find a fresh egg during the Siege of Leningrad. Definitely worth a look.

I was much the same. Loved the aesthetic, individual scenes and moments were good, but as a whole it failed to resonate. Mind you, I thought the same about Fury Road, so my opinion may be suspect.
