A reduction in downforce. I think that would make racing a lot better, put it back in the drivers’ hands.

Vegemite. Definitely vegemite. Everyone thinks it’s chocolate but it’s very salty. You gotta spread it thinly on toast with butter.

No nightmares.

I know there was a driver at Long Beach who was out on the Thursday night, or the Friday night, and got the call-up. He was out drinking and having fun and thought he wasn’t racing, and then one of the drivers got hurt and he had to race, and then he actually finished second. I think he’d been out the Friday night, he

Aesthetics don’t trump safety.

Coming up to a week leading up to the event, you do homework, watch the year’s previous race on TV, look at data from the last year to be prepared, that’s the best way to be prepared so that you’ve done your homework.

It looks like it would work. From the comments I heard, I’ve heard that the vision is okay. I know IndyCar is working and watching with interest to see how the halo thing works. If they can find a way to make a canopy work, absolutely.

Looking forward to that event, it’s going to be a very cool track. I heard there’s a Monaco-style tunnel.

No, I actually raced dirt track cars. I started in a Datsun 1200 coupe. That was a lot of fun.

Daily driver is a Chevy Tahoe, new one, very comfortable. I’ve always considered getting some sort of Porsche. GT3. It would only feel slow if you took it to a track and drove it around, that you’ve driven a car around IndyCar in, whenever you get in a sedan after being in an IndyCar it does feel slow. Lotta grip and

Actually, my cousin’s son is Max Power. No joke. I was a little upset, lol, that there was someone called Max Power. Gotta go one step further and name a kid “Horse.”

It’s gotta be one of the late 90s CART cars. Just the power, 900 horsepower cars, they look wicked. There’s still a couple sitting around in the shop. Hornish got in one when IRL was going to road course, he got to drive a Toyota, they de-tuned it a bit, but it’s still crazy fast. Those things are seriously cool.

I think this year’s going to be very, very close. Honda’s got big upgrades. The car’s nicer to drive for sure. It’s actually less twitchy, the way they’ve done it is more solid with the bumper pod winglets.

I’ve been looking forward to the Indy 500, that’s one that’s going to be, so close last year, I could taste it.

Favorite track is an Indy road course, really nice and smooth, European-style.

Yeah, with the bodykits cars are definitely faster, more efficient, and more physical to drive. The G’s are right up there now in places like Phoenix, it is very physical.

Yeah that thing never goes away. I was behind the fence and I thought “no one’s watching,” stupid me. Because we’d already walked quite away, way back into the paddock. But yeah, they got me.

I think you start working on them, working on their weakness, looking at their weakness, trying to understand where they make a move, so you are focused on that. Sometimes it’s a bit like a “tell” in poker and you don’t want to give it away, like a guy is braking early, and you don’t want to show you have a run on him

Nowadays we have some pretty good simulators. You can spend some time on that and really get your focus in. I just spend some time on one, they’re getting pretty good. But iRacing is probably the best online simulation I’ve ever seen. Given the choice of Mario Kart or iRacing, iRacing of course.

That night, it was awesome, and the team had a whole big hospitality unit there. Some drinks, some food, it was awesome. We didn’t go as far as fridge-tossing, gotta remember at Penske we don’t throw fridges.
