And then two plays later their center went and got himself ejected. Can’t have good things apparently.

Yeah when the rest of the team is hitting his offensive inefficiencies are easily offset by his defense. He is amazing to watch in the field. Watching him hit this season was by far for me the most frustrating part of the year.
“Give it to Wood or Rendon or Strop. They can get six outs before giving up five runs.”
Gotta disagree on the Jersey thing. After buying a Sammy Sosa jersey in 1998 and now being unable to wear it because he is am embarrassment, I instituted a personal rule that I will only buy jerseys of retired players or ones that are on a championship team. The only jerseys I own anymore are Jonathan Toews and Kerry…
This story makes me want to fucking throw up.
Hell half my family here in Wisconsin say that daily. I instantly tune out anyone who uses the term “political correctness.”
They get overly excited for a terrible hip hop song from 1992. That is enough to make me hate them.
As a former journalist who went all over the country in his ‘20s and knows that a lot of his work performance was affected by alcohol abuse, this hits really close to home. I miss my old job and I miss the great industry I covered but it was toxic for me and I am glad I was able to find peace in another field. I only…
Same here just replace NBA with NHL. I like that the games rarely go over 2.5 hours and you get a decent sized break between each period. Plus it is the best pro sport to see live.
I followed The Ringer out of habit on Twitter but had to unfollow on Tuesday when NBA got into full swing and every 30 seconds was a random NBA tweet or article. There is stuff on there I like but it is buried under mountains of shit I couldn’t care less about.
Gotta tip my hat to Kluber last night. He was goddamn fantastic. That said, I still got Cubs in 6.
Literally just had my Brewers fan friend tell me the same thing last night. Great minds and all.
Semantics I know, but he got injured in the third game of the season, not the second.
That is awesome to hear. My cousin’s son was coached growing up by an ex-MLB player who is currently an MLB coach. Couldn’t have met a nicer guy.
Oh fuck +1!
Yeah my mom has taken the stance that even if they don’t win, this season was amazing and she loves the team too much to be disappointed. My parents went to 20+ games this year and were at Arrieta’s no hitter. They saw a lot of great baseball this season win or lose. We all did.
Javy and his crazy presence on the team has been my favorite evolution of the current Cubs. Just a bright kid win heart wrenching and heart warming story. He went from maddening to watch last season most games to must see TV all year. Just one of those players where you know something special is going to happen when…
Yup, I could give a fuck about other Cubs fans or other fans at all. I want the Cubs to win for my mom who has had WGN and now 670 on every day for every single game. Who has travelled all over this damn country watching this team play. She is why I am a Cubs fan and she is why I love baseball so much. When people ask…
The only people I hear personally bring up Bartman’s name at all anymore are non-Cubs fans. They love to never let his legacy die. All Cubs fans I know could give a shit about him.
Yeah I work in education. I learned after the first time that yelling does nothing in the classroom. If the kids are running around acting like assholes, chances are is because you are a boring old asshole. I learned quickly to fix my behavior and engage my students without raising my voice. It worked wonders.
