That’s wild if true. Presume there would be some reporters, plus people needing to be there for family I guess?

In all likelihood, that airplane went in empty (or nearly so) and will come back full. The reason it went was to pick up, not drop off.

hehe - that’s awesome. I picture that 6 year old girl will now become the next Patty Wagstaff.

I loved DLR VH, and like Hagar solo - but put them together and you get ‘meh’.

In the right circumstances, it really is true that you won’t see or hear the train until it’s too late. People don’t realize this, because they’re so big and loud— but it’s true.

I worked in the railroad industry for years, and anotherburnerpourmoi is *absolutely* right about trains being silent in the right circumstances.

It totally is - and a very classy look, too. I like black interiors more in sedan/coupe cars, for sure, and my wife insists on black in her cars.

I’m not a huge fan of black interiors in convertibles, due to the heat. But it still works with a lot of color combinations.

OH SHIT YEAH!

Yeah, some of the engine / model designations on the E36 get pretty confusing. The 323 was one of the early examples where the decklid badging didn’t match the engine size - it’s a 2.5 liter I6. It gets my car around reasonably well, thanks in part to really short gearing, but I’d lose a drag race to just about

We’ve got a subset here that thinks you’re insane if you buy new cars, and another subset that says you’re not allowed to have opinions if you only buy used (and you know damn well they overlap too, haha).

Thanks! I like the lighter color — although after 17 years and 100k+ miles, it’s got some wear on it.

That’s an I6, actually, But all of your other points apply. I own an E46 version of this (without the mods) - -this is a ~$2k car, give or take.

Goddammit - I was already counting the cash!!

PARTY-VI IS THE BULLSHITTER HERE - LOOKA DIS CAR - GOOD AS NEW. ONE OWNER - ALL SERVICE RECORDS. NO LO-BALLERS - I KNOW WHAT I HAVE

LOL - I posted more or less the same thing. I’ll fight you over who gets to dump our car first on the NP voters-

As an owner of a one year newer 323 ‘vert with the exact same drivetrain, this is a huge CP, all day, every day.

Could be- this was probably 30 years ago, test driving a car I was looking to buy, so my memory is a little fuzzy.

It’s been a while, but early manual disc brake cars were no treat, either. Better braking, but holy crap it took me a lot of effort to slow a ‘71 Chevelle with a manual front disc/rear drum setup.

Great description of the driving experience! I haven’t driven anything quite this old, but these old cars really do demand more of you than new cars. Some people enjoy that, some don’t. Count me in the the first group!
