Totally get that SUVs sell well, but I honestly don’t see the point of the GLA AND the GLB (I call it the Glob) in the US. Both are ugly, horrible FWD blandness designed to get people into the Mercedes brand out of their Hondas and Toyotas, but you only need one of those then you want them to move up the food chain in

I used to go to this place in Atlanta, and if you know it, you know it. It’s called Jack’s Pizza and Wings, right there off Highland. It’s a dive bar that serves pizza and wings, and also super cheap beer. Back in 2009, they were still serving $1 pints of “Old 4th Ward” which I’m pretty sure was just Miller.

Are they killing them off globally? Or just in the US? Because at this point, Americans don’t deserve nice things anyway.

I’ve owned multiple Land Rovers in the last 5 years. They’re amazingly reliable. my current LR3 has 174k miles and climbing.

What’s a Range Rover?

The whole article and not a single Layer Cake ref?  Slipping man, slipping.

Great post. To add to this, the cars should bright neon or some other high-visibility color. The Police need to be seen as a beacon of light and safety that citizens should feel protected by, not as something dark that skulks in the shadows trying to catch you.

I mean the founder of the company had no problem selling vehicles to Nazis

I mean it’s clear to anyone with an ounce of gray matter that the police is essential to any society, and police will need cars to do their jobs. There should be no controversy at this.

My monthly budget allows for a car at $400/month in a lease. I only want a car for 3 years- within warranty.

In Order

The Silverado isn’t good either. But the Hyundai/Kia circlejerk is awful around here. You aren’t allowed to be critical of either brand.

You like these ugly mugs, but hate the Silverado.... Jalopnik is stupid. There I said it.

I also had one as a loaner. Decent driving car but the interior really let me down. Cheap plastics and ugly design. Jaguars are not historically the best built cars but you should feel special sitting in them. It was like being in a low spec BMW but worse.

Neutral: It isn’t about working from home that has me insane. As soon as I (and 350 million other people) finish their garage gym, I’m good.

What I miss are the people. I miss them before and after work. I am a little anxious about completely altering my world now that I am half done with life.

I will be fine with it

Imports, Muscle, Pro-Touring, Exotics, Pre-war classics, Off-road vehicles...

You can actually modify a lot on your car out here, you just need to do it properly. Generally they don’t care what you do to your car as long as it passes emissions if it’s newer than ‘75.

Does any other city have a street like Woodward that people just know to cruise on the weekend?”

I’ve lived many places, but when it came time to choose someplace to live as a hardcore car enthusiast, I chose LA. I mean, really no place compares. Sure, Detroit has a cool cruising scene along Gratiot and Woodward, and Florida is an automotive free-for-all, but no place in the US is like Los Angeles.

Everyone here seems to be praising the looks, but I find them horrendous. The grille is very tacky, especially when you realize it’s in the shape of a diamond. The headlights look cartoon-futuristic way, which, to be clear, is not a compliment. The steering wheel looks like a blob from the 90's. The hood looks too
