Lovely choice, also fabulous in Cabriolet form.

The Golf will get a mid-cycle facelift next year for 2023/24, and then I think it’ll get an unusual third facelift to keep it soldiering on in Europe for another few years until the next gen ID4 is revealed as a Golf E. Porsche just did this with the ICE Macan, extending its lifecycle longer than normal to make way…
Agree, old ICE vehicles won’t be going away for a long time, but brand new ones will, and actually pretty soon since the 2030s are only a decade away, and a lot of EU countries and US states have committed to banning sales of new ICE vehicles by 2035.
A Porsche 911 is always the right answer, and if you want a bit more practicality and lower running costs, a nicely-equipped Taycan would fit the bill. We’ve had both over the years and they are both great grand tourers. We just did a 1,200 mile trip in the Taycan with our golden retriever and plenty of stuff, with…
Honestly, I already thought it was dead and new ones running around were the final rental fleet “premium” sedan specials.
Same will happen to other high end EVs like Model S Plaid, Taycans and the EQS etc. We very luckily we got our $7,500 tax credit for our 2022 Taycan which was applied as part of our lease down payment, and then Porsche increased prices by $4k+ for all 2023 model years.
A 4 door Saab of some variety, positioned cheaper than a base Taycan, a little more expensive than a Polestar. It could even use the Turbo name since that oxymoron doesn’t seem to be hurting the Taycan sales. Fast, cool and electric feels very on-brand for Saab - and we all know the Scandinavians love their EVs.
Yes and with that same logic Porsches and Lamborghinis are just sports cars.
That’s fantastic!
I resigned long ago to just let the stupid people in this country keep being stupid.
Lucky lady
Our Taycan has a glass roof and lives outside in California where it’s been in the 90s-100f for the last month. The glass roof is actually tinted and hasn’t been issue. As long as the Lucid’s AC is good I can’t imagine it being a problem.
Great review and the Lucid sounds great. Curious with a range of almost 500 miles why you needed to stop twice to charge, not once, between Silicon Valley and LA? We just completed the same route (via the longer 101) in our Taycan, which has a lot less range than a Lucid, and we only had to charge once, and I drove…
I have a Taycan with the optional Electric Sports Sound. I turn it on for more spirited driving since it’s nice to hear a sound speeding up and down in the bends. What I didn’t know is that the Taycan actually comes with standard electric noise which, while not as loud / pronounced as the optional sound is pretty good.…
Surprised it isn’t on Bring a Trailer for $40k these days
Love the Cross Turismo - I wanted that but had to get the 4dr because I’m married to an American that didn’t understand why I wanted such an expensive “wagon”. Ha!
