That is my theory. Each show receives the same scripts, Mad Libbed all to hell.

It's basically just 'Madlibs - Sitcom Edition' that they hire "really smart guys" to fill in the blanks for them with a "They Might Be Giants sounding song" to blare out of the box.

Good news for those bands who "never made it" in the 90s. Keep trying guys.

Yeah, I remember a sketch from the early 90s in which there is no trace of it's existence on DVD or online. (Shmee..a talking bee) It was awful, but it's still an itch that needs scratched.

I thought it worked as a closer, still unsettling though. Not quite as creepy as Kids in the Hall's Chickenlady…
