I find my music with [Last.fm] usually. [Twisten.fm] seems to be pretty decent, though. I'm so picky that I'm not sure it's for me...

I'm hoping to take the leap some time in the next year or two. While still being cheaper than buying new, it's still not *cheap*. I'd like to do a triple boot w/ Windows, Linux, and Mac and see what I can play around with. It's still difficult for a college student to drop a lot of cash on, esp. in the current…
And the clouds parted, and [insert deity of choice here] spoke, and He/She/It said, "You shall have cross-platform syncing!" and there was much rejoicing.
@will_hopkins: I've been using it for a while now, and it's the best way for me to update Twitter. Kudos to TwitterGadget.
@nashix: I'm downloading Windows 7 right now to try it out with VirtualBox. I was just about to ask if anyone else had tried it. I've had some problems with VirtualBox before, but overall it seems solid.
I've thought about using Hyperspaces, but the restriction to only two spaces (I use four) on the free version made me cautious. I like the labels for each space that Hyperspaces offers, but free software steals my heart (almost) every time.
I've been using Flickr Uploader, but it doesn't impress me. Same complaints as those who have commented above, especially since there appears to be a size limit or it dislikes files edited in Picasa 3 Beta (for Mac).
I've been having major problems with saving my GTDTiddlyWiki. I'm using FF 3 and it gives me a warning saying that saving is not possible in this browser and can I please use FF?
I am one of the many poor Mac users left out by portable apps. I would love any of these apps, if they worked with my MacBook. Can a portable app run on a Mac and just need Windows to be installed, or are they Windows only?
Thanks for all your work, Gina :) I've been a devoted reader of Lifehacker (every article) for about six months, and appreciate all the work you've done. I'm looking forward to seeing your new projects, especially since I'm such a fan of your current ones.
I've been wanting to add a second OS to my MacBook for a little while, but have been torn between Linux (Ubuntu 8.10 or gOS 3.1) and Windows. The 7 Beta would be simple to try out, but I don't want it to go away in a few months unless I pay :P Generally, I prefer to support the free software movement.
I've never really been a Google Notebook user. I use Evernote and love it (the iPhone/iPod interface is a boon to mankind). I don't use it extensively, however, since I've always preferred to use Google Docs to keep track of ideas and suchlike. For web clipping, though, Evernote is unbeatable.
Thanks for the great work, Gina :) Looking forward to seeing your new projects.
I love buying books. Libraries are great, but I prefer to own books that I will read multiple times, like Terry Pratchett's Discworld or Raymond E. Feist's Midkemia. The library is a great way to discover new authors and genres, so I prefer to start there and then buy anything I really get into.
I just started using godaddy.com, and so far I'm pretty satisfied. I've got 90 subdomains yet to use, and my domain is about $10/year. I bought it to use with Google Apps, which is also satisfactory, though Sites is a bit clunky. I have a blog, and when I get some spare time this weekend I'll figure out how to make…
I installed this on my MacBook running Mac OS X 10.5, and was unimpressed. The interface was cluttered and unpolished, and I didn't really understand the setup. I've got iTunes, Songbird, and VLC to curry to my media needs, and they seem to do just fine.
I want to give gOS a try on my MacBook (using rEFIt as a boot manager) but am concerned about being able to restore my partitions. Any thoughts on the ease with which I might be able to restore partitions?
@SoaringDisbelief: If they're YouTube videos you can use BetterYouTube (on FF). Otherwise, Bittorrent is probably your best bet.
It's not bad at all. Mine declines to show profile images, but it's nothing I'd quibble over. I tend to tweet from my iPod or just from the web (since it pops up w/ Speed Dial in every new tab), but it's handy if I have Gmail open and don't feel like opening a new tab.
I'm really a fan of Darkroom. That was a post that caught my eye. I think the word "controversy" in the post was the significant factor. LH has some of the best Linux coverage I've seen, and some of the most interesting.
