That’s totally not true, there are lots of Z3s with Getrag 6 speeds, its a pretty simple swap.  However, you are correct in stating that none were offered from the factory with the 6 speed manual or a proper final drive ratio.

This electrical issue will be something extremely minor and easily fixed. Probably a bad fuse or relay that you can find with a test light.

This is not a German BMW with endless modules and computer boxes that have to be coded to the ECU. This is an American made Z3, which is the most manual of all modern BMWs and only has cosmetic issues if you do any normal maintenance to the drive train.

Z3s don’t have the complicated electronics that the other BMWs do, which makes them unique.  Also, its an American made car so its better.
