Wait, aren't you supposed to have a "Staff" indicator next to your name? You must be a fraud.

Still not as unbelievable as you-know-who's "autopsy" in season 3 of Scandal.

I'm actually quite optimistic about this movie. A film about the civil rights era is Oscar bait almost by definition, but from the looks of the trailer, this will avoid many of the pitfalls of that kind of movie, as Caroline noted. It's nothing like The Butler's trailer, anyway.

Of course, Tarantino also gushed about The Lone Ranger, but yeah, this is still exciting.

I always thought it would be cool (or maybe not at all) if somebody made a film where you had to read a short pamphlet before watching it to get all the exposition out of the way.

I mean, yeah, obviously people are going to have different opinions, but I just think it's interesting that Interstellar has a strong critical consensus about it while also being very divisive at the same time.

Okay you're wonderful thank you
DAMMIT IGNATIY!

Just to be clear, are we talking about the Matt Damon reveal here? (If not, don't tell me what it is, because I kind of skimmed this review anyway (sorry Iggy)).

Ah. Well, I'll probably cheer anyway, if only for the presence of a pipe organ in the soundtrack during a scene without an evil villain in it.

I don't know, was performing inception on Cillian Murphy's character really that "insidiously vile"? Certainly very morally questionable, but I don't think we were ever supposed to believe the protagonists of Inception were of the highest moral standard.

I haven't seen the film, but based on what I've read, Interstellar is very deserving of a Spoiler Space. And yet I see none! What gives? I suppose I'll just have to take my business elsewhere.

With all the mixed(-ish) reviews coming in for this film, I'm actually kind of worried that I'll watch it, love it unconditionally, and actually find no flaws in it. It would make me feel like such a dumb. I already unconditionally love Inception, so there's Strike One.

Oh, shit, I forgot that Mission to Mars used organ music. God, that was such a shitty soundtrack. I guess I can only hope Hans Zimmer will do better.

That's a really good book.

Weirdly, a lot of the critics, while having the same basic appraisal of the movie, come to it for a lot of different reasons. I've seen critics (like Ignatiy) that dislike the beginning and ending but like the middle, I've seen critics that love the ending but hate the first two-thirds, and I've seen critics that like

I freaking love organ music, so there's one thing I can definitely look forward to in this film.

Yeah, it's fun watching him get enraged, but now he doesn't post a single video that isn't 50% comprised of some horrendously unfunny, overlong sketch.

I mean, the entire careers of the people in the Parents Television Council is to be outraged. Without outrage, they're out of a job.

Yeah, it's not so bad when I think about it on those terms, but then I keep thinking about Sigourney Weaver stating the obvious—they're going to die either way, and they're choosing to take the rest of the world with them for no darned reason. Billions of people will die "painfully", as Weaver herself puts it, and

Yeah, I get it's supposed to be a "metaphor" or what have you, but I still fucking hate that ending. Those kids are such dumbasses.
