I probably would'd enjoyed it more if they hadn't spoiled the two major revelations in all the advertisement.
And this is likely me being nitpicky, but did Mondas ever have the technology for space travel before? The idea they could build massive colony ships and hire aliens to work for them seems off to me, if they

Personally I was confused in Thin Ice, by this exchange
"Regency was blacker than I was expecting"
"So was Jesus"
Are they saying Jesus was black? Now while obviously a first century Jew wouldn't be Caucasian, it's not really accurate to call Middle Eastern people black is it?
Am I being pedantic? Probably.

I suspected that after two episodes of build up, this episode would be rushed, as it has to introduce and resolve this strange new world in one episode. My fears have been confirmed. Now hurry up and get to the Master team up, so you can most likely disappoint me again, but at least we'll get to see John Sims again.

Killing their parents was too much, it prevents the writers from doing more interesting stuff and is way too much to deal with, you need to explain these deaths to the authorities and figure out what happens to the teenagers now, and deal with the emotional trauma. It's all too much.
Maybe the Governs plan doesn't

Oh no they killed off some minor characters I didn't care about. Now the whole group has a ton of emotional baggage, which the writers will be forced to deal with in future episodes because this is too major to ignore.
Thank goodness the Shadowking were all evil so this act of genocide was okay.
Oh look the Weeping

Not that, it's what ends up happening to some other characters, which I feel creates a lot of baggage for the writers to deal with and limits what they can do.

The shows best episode. Next is the lackluster finale where the writers make a very rash choice.

They must have saved so much money making this episode.
Also Susan didn't go to heaven because she wasn't dead, also "wearing lipstick" as her obsessing over material desires. I feel the next episode is the best of the season.

As a 18 year old (last year) I know what the LOTR is and I'm just as confused by how it's treated here.

I'd rather Jar-Jar would be put in a box and left there for all time.
