There’s a difference between Gboard and the default Google keyboard he was referring to. He was just skimming the details from the default Google keyboard section of the linked “Five Best Android Keyboards” article instead of actually writing about Gboard.

I like how you refer to Gboard as if it and it’s features are iOS only. Really making it clear you put the bare minimum of effort into this article by skimming that one article someone else wrote about Android keyboards three years ago.
