FaceID is going to suck compared to TouchID. Fingerprint scanners can have your phone unlocked before you even got a chance to look at your phone, never mind the times looking directly at your phone is a pain. Apple couldn’t get the under screen reader to work, didn’t want to add another ugly bump to the back of the

I think the problem is that it’s hard to recommend the existing Pixel with a new one right on the horizon, but it’s hard to recommend the new one without actually knowing what it is. This is where the wait a couple months recommendation fits in.

I have a Keurig - it’s not as good, but it’s easier and faster. You are using this “natural progression” argument on a lot of these, but no one knew they were the natural progression until someone figured it out. Natural progression isn’t obvious without hindsight.

How about Keurig? No one knew they wanted a prepackaged cup of coffee until Keurig created a demand. Juicero was pretty much Keurig for juice. Juicero failed because there’s a lot less demand for fresh-squeezed juice compared to coffee, and most people just get a cup of juice by pouring it out of a bottle, but you can

While the bus isn’t yet running, it’s hard to imagine Apple employees needing a lift and chirping, “Let’s go hop in the PAIL!”

I use Our Groceries for shopping lists. Not only does it sync with my wife’s phone, it allows me to rearrange the items on the list. And then the next time I add items to the list it remembers the relative order of items I’ve added before, so my list is 90% sorted in store order before I rearrange the new stuff.

RE: Adjusting to eternal free fall: Someone needs to ask an astronaut how long it took them to adjust to space, since being in orbit is essentially eternal free fall. They’re just going around the Earth fast enough that it curves out from under them before they hit it. How long does it take them to be comfortable

Keep humans alive and evolving, for varying degrees of keep. Not counting all the people who died earlier than they would have if modern medicine had been available to them. They went with “alternative” methods because it was all they had at the time.

There was no medieval America, so American accents sound weird in a medieval world. Since the shows are in English, gotta go with an accent from the British Isles.

In general, I agree with you. But this post is aimed at people who want to go viral and reach a wide audience, not people who just want to share photos of their kids with friends and family.

On Android, I just share the webpage to Inbox and save it there. Then I can just open Inbox in any browser and it has the link.

Why doesn’t somebody try something new and novel and try being ESPN of the 90s? Show sports, show highlights, show breaking news and keep the stupid ‘takes’ away from me.

Whatever your financial situation, if you were a teenager before the internet was even an option you’re probably not a millennial.

But the main thing I was talking about was the internet. How old were you when they got that?

Yeah, I was born in 1981, and I’ve seen places call me a millenial because I was born after 1980. I disagree, because I was 10 years old before our town got cable, and in high school before we got the internet in our house (crappy dial up we were only allowed to use at night so we didn’t block the phone lines), so

Did you get the elaborate meal too?

Meh. What percentage of potential customers have even seen 2001? It’s 50 years old and not exactly the type of things you’d pick to watch on a relaxing Friday night.

If they focused on being an Echo killer, everyone would focus on how much Siri sucks compared to Alexa/Google Assistant, all while doing it in a package that costs more the twice the Echo/Google Home. If they focus marketing on Sonos, they can at least point out some similarly-priced speakers that they can plausibly

Am I the only person alive that still subscribes to OG Netflix? I still have too many movies in my queue to catch up that aren’t available by streaming. And I’ll never catch up on them all thanks to kids, which is why I like having the movies waiting at home when I do get the chance instead of having to go to Redbox

Yeah, but that was true a month ago, and MP3s were still good enough for most people, and most widely supported. The only thing that has changed is that the Frauenhofer Institute can’t make money off of MP3 anymore, but they can on some other formats.
