Well, that’s kinda the cherry on top of this. The sentences are long because they were convicted under Georgia’s anti-gang laws, laws that were intended to be used against black people (notably, Georgia doesn’t have hate crime laws). It’s really kind of beautiful, when you step back and look at it.
