Maybe this is just me but my first thought was food colouring... so much food colouring. Also, I prefer cakes that look like cakes. This cake looks like a bunch of plastic toys and toys don't make my mouth water. Yes, I'm a cake traditionalist.

Women are expected to wear makeup, especially in the media. When was the last time you saw a female tv anchor without makeup? You can be cynical all you want, but this is not a meaningless act for a woman like her and for many people watching her.

I once saw bears kept in a park in Gemany (not a typical zoo). Their place was basically a big hole below the ground, all in stone, not even a grassy patch to stand on. There were two bears there, and they looked miserable. You'd have to be an idiot not to see sadness in their eyes. I'll never visit a zoo or any

Blackfish is an amazing documentary. Everyone even remotely interested in the wellbeing of animals should see it.

Yes, it's heart-breaking. Animals are not stupid. They know that they are imprisoned and limited.

Agreed. I also find it sad that many people fall for the zoo propaganda about protecting the animals they keep imprisoned. There are sanctuaries and other ways to rescue/help an individual animal that for some reason can't be reintroduced into the wild, without profiting from their misery, and without breeding

Polar bear attacks on humans are rare. In almost all cases, the polar bear in question was undernourished, frightened, or provoked. Scientists expect human polar bear-encounters to increase as the sea ice continues to melt and hungry bears are driven ashore. Over the past few years, sea ice losses have led to more

Great episode.

Not getting into the meating eating argument. All I'm saying here is that sport hunting is vile. The royal family & co are not hunting to eat - their primary motivation is to flaunt their status.

Not saying that none of those killed animals are eaten by humans. But if we're talking about hunting for sport, not for survival, eating those animals is like an afterthought and doesn't make a wrong thing right.

It's a result from a study. It could be used to "fat shame", but if it's a fact (guess we'll need more studies to find out) it can't/shouldn't be insulting in itself.

From the study: "Sustained metabolic health in obese participants was associated with age ≤ 40 years and lower waist circumference." So it's safe to say a person is "healthy obese" only if they're over 40, but it's likely a transition state if they're under 40? Young(er) people are usually healthier so that's not

They're not killing to survive. Hunting is a "fun activity" and a status symbol for the british monarchy. They're killing defenseless wild animals for the fun of it and because they can. And although as a vegan I agree that having a cow or a pig burger, in presence of other choices, is morally questionable (to say the

@ Pippa Middleton yuck! Killing defenseless animals for the fun of it is not a sport.

So basically, treat her like she is a prey, not a person. So arrogant and gross. Hopefully, guys who write/believe in this crap are least likely to "score" in the real world. Unfortunately, they probably can't tell a difference between "score" and rape. Yuck.

Speaking of chicken nuggets shaped like babies... Non human flesh than looks like human flesh for people who like to pretend they're eating human flesh: http://pickyglutton.com/2012/09/28/hum… I think I'll have a bean burger, thanks.
