I was thinking the same thing. Is this the first time we've ever seen her wear glasses? I was trying to figure out if it was significant or not.

I liked it overall, but the "sentimentality" and "daddy issues" were the weakest part of this movie by far. Those scenes (and the father/son relationship at the beginning) were so predictable that they took me out of the movie a bit (and I really try not to overanalyze while I'm watching something). The fight

The fight choreography is indeed excellent, I was as interested in the robot boxing matches as I've been in any human ones. And you do get to see that trainer/boxer relationship in a very interesting way, since "training" the boxer is more that just making hardware/software upgrades.

Depends on the age IMO, there are a few s-words and one scene that's fairly violent (human on human).

I saw it yesterday... the robot fighting stuff is pretty awesome to watch but I found the father/son stuff to be a little grating (more so than Spielberg's other movies). Overall I'd give it a solid B, but if you are expecting "Rocky, But With Robots" or "Rock Em Sock Em: The Movie" you will be disappointed.

True, it just kind of caught me as a little awkward when I first saw it. Just as it's hitting you that he's going to be stuck there forever, there's a "but wait! we can bring her back!" that took me out of the moment a little. I'm a Spielberg fan but this and the ET guns/radios thing are two things I disagree with.

I actually thought the same thing... however, I didn't see anything about them taking a lock of hair and magically bringing her back for a day. I think the film (which I enjoyed) works better with a sadder ending, whether it's the coda as Kubrick envisioned it or simply at the bottom of the ocean. Interesting article

I couldn't agree with you more.

Now playing

True... I think it works the same way since the characters can see the new color / smallest particle / dance but we only see grey / pixel / tiptoe move.

Looks like you put on a little bit of weight though...

And, you never see him actually do the dance, it's just him striking the one pose with the "moving lines" background.

I love space combat as much as anyone but it is often done very poorly because Space is an Ocean. (warning: clicking this link will trap you in a time vortex)

I said the same thing but I gave it a shot and really liked it. If you haven't tried it give a couple of episodes from S5 of the new series.

Agreed... there was plenty of stuff original to Caprica (the Ha'la'tha, for example), with just enough callback/callforward to stuff that was familiar to BSG. But it took waaay too long to get to the good stuff, and took a huge midseason break that killed the momentum it had been building.

PSYOP is a fascinating subject and I think WWII is when it really developed/advanced (at least in the US). Saw a great display of German and Allied leaflets, the best one showed a family in a warm house split with a soldier and a foxhole and said "Where would you rather be for the holiday?"

IIRC his character in our universe is new to the FBI and very new to Fringe, so he probably won't be doing as much cool stuff as alt-Lincoln (in the beginning, anyway).

A 5:17 good movie ratio is pretty depressingly low... honestly there isn't a lot on this list that I am too excited about.

+1. This is the picture I came here hoping to see!

CJ, thank you for watching this movie so we don't have to!

I still think he is taking it up to 11 but I don't really buy it. Like, Esther is already clearly distraught, do you think screaming and blaming everything on her is going to help? Oh yeah, and could you open this elevator for me? Thanks.
