Worst over-endage award goes to AI, however. A powerful (if depressing) ending turned into fairy-tale drivel. No it's not PKD, but another example of how Speilberg can't deal with anything less than happily ever after.

My surprise at where he drew the line was somewhat tempered by the fact that alt-Brandon had just mentioned that they had already killed 10 people, and none of them had lasted more than 47 minutes.
Simon (as foil) also demonstrates how much of our thoughts we keep to ourselves. So, what would happen if Peter went into the machine today? Presumably he would "choose" Olivia while harboring some other subconscious "feelings" for Fauxlivia, so does the machine count that as choosing our universe or do both universes…
I took that as, "we're going to experiment on kids but we don't know anything about child psychology, so let's go to the library." And we see how well that turned out for Olivia, Simon, etc. But if Nina and Belly needed it for something else... as M. Night would say, "What a tweest!"
Definitely... I think for most "mystery of the week" shows that have a deeper storyline, there comes a time when that storyline becomes infinitely more interesting than the mystery of the week (no matter how good it is). As we discovered the vastness of the conspiracy in the X-Files, we cared less about an AI that…
@cortexiphansession: Are we sure there aren't going to be more soon? As our side gets closer to the machine being fully functional (and destroying us LHC-style?), there has to be more going on Over There than can be figured out by reading a typewriter.
@Cash907Censored: "nothing more then a watered down version of the much superior original... they didn't need to remake this, they could have just bought the rights to the original, and aired that instead."
@Ghost in the Machine: I definitely agree... all this technology stuff is great, but you have to carry a lot of extra crap (plus all the old manual stuff anyway in case the power goes out). But if it weighed 700g I would have no problem using it...
@fluffywarthog1029: Definitely... I really hope Fox finally learns from some of their mistakes (like Firefly, Dollhouse, Space: Above and Beyond, and even Family Guy twice! Yes I know it's not sci-fi but still...)
@Clutchman83: One of the coolest effects that surprised me was Flynn's longcoat... I expected to see the lights on the bodysuits but seeing it creep out of the sleeves and lapel was a nice touch.
@patador: And we saw just about as much of Tron as we did of Darth Maul... how excited were we all when the second half of his lightsaber/staff came out and then the battle was over 30 seconds later?
@mipakr: That bad? I don't think there was anything that could match the awfulness of Jar Jar and all the other garbage that was in the prequels.
I really enjoyed Tron (as I enjoyed this movie), but it's a bit of an impossible task to remake Tron in the spirit of the original. The "rules of the game" have quite literally changed, but Tron Legacy did a good job being a fun movie in its own right (with some less-than-great moments) while paying homage to its…
Yes, they can go to the Moon in the alt-verse, but the real question is... how do they manage to keep Manhatan so clean?
Well at least the auditions eventually paid off for some people (Rosalind Chao, Tim Russ).
@Dresan: At least in this world, the emotional aspects definitely still remain, but the process itself is as emotion-filled as ordering something off of Amazon.
I saw this show about 2 weeks ago... I would definitely give it more than 1/5 (although, of course, I'm not a professional reviewer), it is funny in parts but it is dialogue-heavy in case you are not into that sort of thing. But for $20 a ticket it is definitely worthwhile.
