I see that a lot. I get that cheesy forced smile like they are doing some form of charity work by being in the same space with me.  I’m working on my sneer for that.

My dog has a couple of sweaters.  It’s because she gets cold in the winter.  I ask her if she wants her sweater when she’s shivering.  She runs over to the bin with the sweater and growls when it’s time to take it off.

You know, I’ve noticed this attitude. I do a little experiment and behave as if everything belongs to me when a lot of white people are around and many of them act startled, like they were shook awake to discover that I am human. It’s actually a fun game.

I don’t understand why some Black people feel the need to say I’m not surprised whenever something horribly racist happens.
