I was absolutely enthralled with the first season of Warrior Nun.
I am really happy Warrior Nun gets a 3rd season, especially after s2 ended on a crazy cliffhanger, with Beatrice and Ava separated, and us really still not understanding the nature of the other realm & exactly what the big conflict that is happening is even about, or who the antagonist that we are dealing with is.
Warrior Nun: baffled and really pleased. I’m sure the next streaming service will also release it quietly into the night with no marketing campaign and kill it shortly thereafter, but I'm very much looking forward to season 3. Eventually.
There’s a big difference between “franchise movies,” which have been around for nearly a century, and the current shared universe model, which didn’t emerge as a mature form until Avengers.
I didn’t feel the push to link it with the other movies
I’m a Marvel girl, always have been. I like a few characters and issues from the DC side, but that’s it.
“I think you fall into a bit of a trap if you try and set up a first movie whilst also planning for sequels”
Margot should be in all the things!
Midge Maisel is practically Lois Lane but with a different job.
If there’s a Legally Blonde remake, I want Margot Robbie in it.
Rachel Brosnahan as Lois is...yes, thank you, James Gunn. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I cannot imagine anyone better.
I’m certain Star Wars fans will have calm and reasonable discussions about this.
This notion that audiences are too dumb to handle recasting really needs to die.
I think “Om-nom-nom’d” is correct.
Inhaled? Aggressively?
There’s also the factor that this movie seems to be trying to get, frankly, Endgame levels of impact without any of the legwork necessary to get there.
People tend to forget that the MCU started out with extremely modest goals. Do a handful of standalone movies with different characters, hint at connections between them, but hold off on a major crossover until Avengers, which was the sixth movie in the series. And the interesting thing is that tonally the first five…
Don’t look at it as “Agatha Harkness is getting a series.” Look at it as “Marvel is doing what they can to give Kathryn Hahn more work.”
